Biographical Sketch
Mihir Desai, MD, is Director of the Stevan B. Streem Center for Endourology at the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute of Cleveland Clinic, and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Dr Desai’s clinical and research interests include stone disease, upper-urinary-tract obstruction, and laparoscopic and robotic surgery of the kidney, adrenal, prostate and bladder.
Dr. Desai has over 110 publications in peer-reviewed literature on minimally invasive therapies of the urinary tract. In addition, he has written over 15 book chapters and has presented abstracts and videos in many national and international meetings.
He has done pioneering work in the field of treatment of ureteropelvic obstruction, “scarless” laparoscopic surgery and flexible robotic applications for endoscopy. Many of these research works have won honors and awards at scientific meetings.
Dr. Desai is also Director of the Endourology Fellowship of the Endourological Society. He is an invited reviewer of many reputed journals and serves on several scientific committees.
