Biographical Sketch
Michael Fritz, MD, is a Staff Member of the Cleveland Clinic’s Head and Neck Institute in the Section of Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Fritz is also a staff member at MetroHealth Medical Center in the Department of Otolaryngology Section of Head and Neck Surgery. His specialty interests include pediatric and adult facial plastic surgery, functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, soft tissue and bony facial reconstruction and microvascular reconstruction.
He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health in Columbus, Ohio. He completed a general surgery internship and an otolaryngology residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn.
He is board-certified by the State of Ohio Medical Board, the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He has published a number of journal articles on topics such as hypothyroidism after the treatment of non-thyroid head and neck cancer, endoscopic techniques for chronic rhinositus, laryngeal transplantation and immunosuppression, and radiofrequency treatments in the middle and lower face, among others.
He has also published book chapters on concepts and techniques in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery, as well as given a number of presentations on the topic.
Dr. Fritz is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
