Biographical Sketch
Jeffrey Lawton, MD, joins Cleveland Clinic from the University of Kentucky Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, where he was Chief of the Combined Orthopaedic/Plastic Hand Surgery Service and Director of Orthopaedic Surgery Medical Student Clerkships.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Lawton obtained his orthopaedic surgery residency from Northwestern University in Chicago. He then completed his fellowship at the Raymond Curtis National Center for Treatment of the Hand and Upper Extremity in Baltimore. Dr. Lawton is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has received a certificate of added qualification in Hand Surgery.
Among his honors and awards are the Thomas D. Brower Orthopaedic Excellence in Teaching Award and membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He is the author of multiple journal articles and has given numerous presentations at national meetings. Dr. Lawton’s specialty interests include congenital/pediatric and post-traumatic reconstruction and elbow conditions, in addition to the full spectrum of hand and upper-extremity problems.
