Biographical Sketch
Michel C. Samson, MD, FRCSC, FACS, is a staff surgeon in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida Weston, a position he has held since 2001. Dr. Samson's interests include cosmetic surgery of the face and body, cosmetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction after cancer surgery including microsurgery, body contouring, and reconstructive plastic surgery.
Dr. Samson received his medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1995 with academic distinctions in pediatrics, medicine and surgery. Prior to entering medical school he received a B.Sc. in physics, first class honors with distinction from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. Dr. Samson completed integrated plastic surgery residency training at Dalhousie University. He subsequently completed additional advanced training in aesthetic and breast plastic surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He was appointed to Cleveland Clinic in 2000, and is licensed to practice in Florida, North Carolina, New York and California.
Dr Samson currently serves as the Plastic Surgery Residency Program Director. He is a former Chairman (Interim) of the Department of Plastic Surgery in Florida. In addition, Dr. Samson is appointed as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at Barry University in Miami, Florida, and is also Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Health Sciences Center of Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Samson is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery; he is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with Specialist Certification in plastic surgery. He has authored 21 articles and has presented 45 lectures and abstracts in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

- Pioneered the use of laser assisted ICG dye angiography imaging systems for complex breast reconstruction techniques. This helps patients by improving surgery success rates in breast reconstruction after cancer mastectomy.
- Innovator in the use of tissue expanders, implants and biologic materials in breast reconstructive surgery. This has improved reconstructive outcomes for patients.
