Biographical Sketch

David Dietz, MD, is a Staff Surgeon in the Department for Colorectal Surgery. His specialty interests include inflammatory bowel disease, rectal cancer, reoperative abdominal and pelvic surgery and continent ileostomy procedure.

Dr. Dietz earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Penn. He completed a residency in general surgery at Allegheny University Hospital-East Falls, also in Philadelphia. He completed a residency in general surgery and fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Oh.

He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

He is a fellow with the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, as well as the American, the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Association for Academy Surgery and the International Society for Gastrointestinal Hereditary Tumors.

He has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as colorectal cancer liver metastases, strictureplasty, and Bowen’s disease, among many others.
