Biographical Sketch

David Owen Martin, M.D., M.P.H., is an electrophysiologist in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He specializes in implantation, programming and interrogation of pacemakers and defibrillators; in radiofrequency removal of arrhythmias; and in lead extraction using the excimer laser system.
Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology, Dr. Martin is a frequent lecturer at regional and national professional meetings. He also is a reviewer of research articles published in the American Heart Journal, Journal of Electrocardiology, and Epidemiology.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Dr. Martin became a clinical fellow of Harvard Medical School and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He completed a fellowship in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
