Biographical Sketch

Patricio R. Aycinena, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Department of Endocrinology at Cleveland Clinic's Lorain Family Health and Surgery Center located in Lorain, Ohio.  Dr. Aycinena has been with Cleveland Clinic since 2000. Before , he served as Chief of Medicine at Lorain Community Hospital and has worked in private practice in Lorain.

Dr. Aycinena's specialty interests include thyroid disorders, diabetes and diabetes insipidus, and general endocrinology. He is board-certified in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine and in endocrinology from the American Board of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Dr. Aycinena received degrees in medicine and surgery from the Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala. He went on to complete a rotary internship at the Military Hospital and Roosevelt Hospital in Guatemala as well as a residency in the Metabolic Unit of the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama. In the United States, Dr. Aycinena completed a residency in internal medicine at Tulane University, as well as a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Chicago.

He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, Lorain County Medical Society, American College of Physicians, Ohio State Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.
