Biographical Sketch
Dr. Susan Joy is a primary care sports medicine physician with Cleveland Clinic Sports Health and is the director of Women's Sports Health. She also serves as the Head Team Physician for Cleveland State University and Independence High School and was a recent member of the Board of Directors of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Joy attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine after earning a BA in Chemistry fom Amherst College. She completed her residency training in the Department of Family Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve University and received her specialty training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Joy is board-certified in family medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in sports medicine.
Her special interests include sports health for young women and young athletes, comprehensive evaluation and management of stress fractures, medical issues in the athletic population and the nonsurgical treatment of osteoarthritis in the athlete's knee.
