Biographical Sketch
Lael Stone, MD, is a Staff Neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic’s Mellen Center. Her specialty interests include multiple sclerosis, specifically the use of MRI to monitor natural history and therapy, and neuroimmunology. Dr. Stone is board certified in neurology and psychiatry.
She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
She completed her internship in internal medicine and a residency in neurology at Baylor College of Medicine. She was a National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke, Neuroimmunology Fellow, as well as a National Multiple Sclerosis Society Training Fellow.
She has spoken at several national and international meetings on the topic of multiple sclerosis and has received many grants for conducting research on potential new treatments for the disease. She has also published articles in a number of professional peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Stone is a member of several medical societies, including the American Academy of Neurology for which she serves on a review committee charged with drafting guidelines regarding MS care, the American Medical Association, and she is Chair of the Professional Advisory Council, Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
