Biographical Sketch
Feza Remzi, MD, is a Staff Member in the Department of Colorectal Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
His specialty interests include surgical treatment for mucosal ulcerative colitis, Crohn's Disease, diverticulitis, pelvic pouch procedures for mucosal ulcerative colitis and familial adenomatous polyposis, sphincter-saving operations, surgery for carcinoma of the colon and rectum re-operative abdominopelvic surgery.
Dr. Remzi earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. He completed his internship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed a residency in the Department of General Surgery and a fellowship in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
He is a member of a number of medical societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons, among others. He has published on topics such as renal cell carcinoma, Ileal Pouch Anal Anastomosis, and Crohn’s Disease.
Dr. Remzi has been recognized with several awards and honors, including being included in Cleveland Magazine’s “Best Doctors” in 2007 and 2008. He was the Ed and Joey Story Endowed Chair Holder in Colorectal Surgery in 2007. He was recognized as the Cleveland Clinic Department of Colorectal Surgery Teacher of the Year award in 2007 and received the Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award, also in 2007, among others.
