Biography

About Jaclyn Bjelac, MD

Jaclyn Bjelac, MD, is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and serves as the Associate Director of the Cleveland Clinic Food Allergy Center of Excellence. She sees pediatric patients at our Main Campus location, and patients of all ages with food allergy and related concerns at the Strongsville Family Health Center. 
 
Dr. Bjelac is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology with a concentration in neuroscience at John Carroll University in University Heights, OH. She earned her medical degree from Wright State University in Dayton, OH, and completed a residency in Pediatrics at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies' and Children's Hospital in Cleveland.  Dr. Bjelac completed Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.  
 
Dr. Bjelac is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Asthma Allergy and Immunology, American Academy of Asthma Allergy and Immunology, Cleveland Allergy Society, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. 
 
Her specialty interests include food allergies, food allergen desensitization, oral immunotherapy, asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis, drug allergy, allergen immunotherapy, and immunodeficiency.  She is the principal investigator in research studies related to food allergy, and has published peer reviewed articles and presented abstracts in the fields of immunodeficiency, food allergy, and quality/patient communication.

This was by far the best visit we've ever experienced with the a clinic. Our provider was amazing - she was great with my daughter explained things so we both understood and she was absolutely amazing.

Dr Bjelac was so sweet. She talked to my 7 year old in a way that she could understand. She also talked TO my daughter and asked her to explain things instead of relying on me to give all the info. My daughter felt included in the discussion and that's what I love!!

Dr. Bjelac is the best allergist! She is an expert in her field but also has a way to relate as though you're taking to a friend. The work she is doing with OIT is bringing hope to so many families. She is saving lives through OIT. You can tell she really cares about the families she works with and loves to help people. She has been a huge blessing to my son and I'll forever be grateful for her. I recommend her office and The Cleveland Clinic to everyone.

Dr. Bjelac is top notch! I cannot say enough good about her. She is an expert in her field and she is sure you understand everything. She gives you lots of time and doesn't rush you. When you talk to her she makes you feel like you're talking to a friend. She's down to earth and you can relate to her mom to mom. She is a trailblazer in her work with oral immunotherapy and the families she is helping will be forever grateful for her dedication! She is truly making a huge difference in the lives of kids with food allergies!
