Biographical Sketch

William John Davros, PhD, is the Section Head of Medical Physics and a Staff Physicist in the Division of Diagnostic Radiology, as well as an adjunct faculty member with Cleveland State University Physics Department and the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Davros' specialty interests include physics of computerized tomography and digital radiographics.

Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic in 1993, Dr. Davros was a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

He is certified in diagnostic medical imaging by the American Board of Medical Physics and in diagnostic X-ray and mammography by the Ohio Department of Health. He also holds a Letter of Equivalence in diagnostic imaging from the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Davros won the Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award in 2005 for his work looking at, watersoluble quantum dots as contrast agent from imaging patients with renal insufficiency or contract dye allergies, and in 2006 for work looking at an automatic exposure control/density control function phantom.

He is a member of several professional societies, including The American College of Radiology, The American Association of Physicists in Medicine, and The American College of Medical Physics, among others.
