Biographical Sketch
Michael M. Bloomfield, MD, is a Staff gynecologist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic's main campus and Solon campus located in Solon, Ohio. He assumed this position in 1996 after a year as associate staff gynecologist on the Willoughby Hills campus of the Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Bloomfield's specialty interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, fibroids, abnormal bleeding and abnormal Pap smears.
Dr. Bloomfield received his medical education at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology through a combined program at the University Hospitals of Cleveland and Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. He is licensed to practice medicine in Ohio.
Previous to becoming affiliated with Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Bloomfield served for two years in the National Health Service Corps, then was in private practice from 1987 to 1995. He has been a clinical assistant professor at Ohio State University and an Adjunct Instructor at Case Western Reserve University since 1999.
In 2006, Dr. Bloomfield received the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He is a diplomate of American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
