Biographical Sketch
Michael McKee, PhD, received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, where he also taught. He has been in professional practice for over 40 years. He has written numerous articles and chapters for professional publications and has presented papers on psychotherapy, stress management, self-regulation and pain management at many national and international meetings.
Dr. McKee is Past-President of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback and received the Association's Presidential Service Award. He was President of the Cleveland Academy of Consulting Psychologists for three terms, the Cleveland Psychological Association for two. He has been President of the Ohio Psychological Association and received its Distinguished Service Award. He has served on the Council of Representatives of the American Psychological Association, was twice president of an APA Section, and twice chaired APA's Committee for Approval of Continuing Education Sponsors. He was Chairman of ISMA-USA, the U.S. branch of the International Stress Management Association. He was selected for the National Academies of Practice - Distinguished Practitioner in Psychology (limited to 150).
Dr. McKee was Vice Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Cleveland Clinic for many years and also chaired the Section of Health Psychology and General Psychology, directing a program that focused on diagnosis and treatment of stress-related disorders and enhancement of health and performance through improved self-regulation. He has extensive experience in consultation to business, healthcare, education and athletics.
Dr. McKee has served on the faculty of four universities. He has lectured widely throughout the country and abroad, and has made hundreds of appearances on local and national radio and television, including the Today Show.
