Biographical Sketch
Glenn E. DeBoer, MD, is a Staff Member in the Department of Pediatric Anesthesiology and in the Department of General Anesthesiology. In addition, Dr. DeBoer currently serves on the Quality Review Committee as the Pediatric Anesthesiology Quality Review Officer and on the Quality Review Committee for the Anesthesiology Institute.
He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, and his specialty interests include malignant hyperthermia, pediatric and neurosurgical anesthesia, and high-frequency jet ventilation.
Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic in 1978, Dr. DeBoer was Director of Pediatric Anesthesia at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. Dr. DeBoer earned his medical degree from Case Western University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency with the Department of Anesthesiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed a residency with the Department of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
He has published a number of articles, book chapters and abstracts on topics such as effects of anesthesia under specific conditions. He is a member of several medical societies, including the American Medical Association, the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists and the Ohio State Medical Association, among others.
