Biographical Sketch
Cleveland Clinic in 1983. He is the Fellowship Director for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Post Residency Training Program.
Dr. Brems' practice is limited to management of all aspects of shoulder problems including shoulder instabilities, arthritis and rotator cuff tears. His particular interest is in shoulder replacement surgery and he is one of the leaders in the country in the volume of shoulder replacements performed annually.
He remains active in research and is presently involved in the design and study of a new technology in managing complex shoulder fractures. He has written several book chapters and published several manuscripts. He is a review editor of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society and the American Orthopaedic Society.
Dr Brems also has a deep interest and commitment to resident and post-residency fellowship education. As Program Director for the Shoulders and Elbow Surgery Fellowship, he is responsible for the post-graduate education of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, particularly shoulder specialists. His dedication and commitment to education has earned him the "Best Teacher" award twice in the last 10 years.
