Biographical Sketch
Milton M. Lakin, MD, F.A.C.P., is Head, Section of Medical Urology at the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute at Cleveland Clinic, a position he has held since 1994. He is also a member of the Urological Institute and Department of Internal Medicine.
Most recently, Dr. Lakin received the position of Associate Professor of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
He is board-certified in internal medicine and hematology, and he belongs to several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Urologic Association and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
Dr. Lakin has been instrumental in the founding and establishment of a number of institutions dedicated to men’s sexual health, including the Center for Sexual Function and the Men’s Minority Health Center of the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute.
He has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to more than 20 books on male sexual function. He has participated in national consensus panels that have published guidelines for the evaluation and treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Lakin is an ad hoc reviewer for the journals: Urology, Journal of Urology, International Journal of Impotence Research, and Journal of Sexual Medicine. He is also a reviewer for the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine.
