Biographical Sketch
Robert J. Pelley, MD, is a Staff member in the departments of Solid Tumor Oncology and Hematologic Oncology and Blood Disorders and the Taussig Cancer Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. His clinical interests include gastrointestinal tumors. Dr. Pelley is board-certified in internal medicine with subspecialties in hematology and medical oncology.
He is a fellow of the American Cancer Society and an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians. In addition, Dr. Pelley is a journal reviewer for Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, Journal of Cancer Research, Clinical Oncology, and American Journal of Gastroenterology. He has been a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Fellowship in Hematology and the Young Investigator Award given by the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Pelley received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship in hematology and oncology at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Dr. Pelley served as Program Director of the Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship for nearly 10 years and continues to take an active role in the education of young hematologists and oncologists in training.
