Biographical Sketch
Muzaffar Ahmad, MD, is Chairman Emeritus of Medicine and a Staff Physician in the Department of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Ahmad received his medical degree from Kashmir University in 1965 and after completing his pulmonary fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in June 1973, he joined the Department of Pulmonary Disease. He served as Chairman of the department from March 1983 to September 1991 and Chairman of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic from 1991 to 2003. Dr. Ahmad has served on the Medical Executive Committee and on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors.
His specialty interests include chronic obstructive lung disease, bronchial asthma, lung cancer and fiberoptic bronchoscopy. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications.
