Biographical Sketch
James Sferra, MD, has been on Staff in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic since 1993. He has been Head of the Section of Foot and Ankle Surgery since 1996. Dr. Sferra’s practice is limited to pathology of the foot and ankle region. His interests include sports medicine, fractures, bunion and lesser toe deformities and occupational injuries.
Dr. Sferra is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society along with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has served on AOFAS committees and has given graduate medical education courses on behalf of the AOFAS and AAOS.
Dr. Sferra has numerous publications in orthopaedic peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to a multitude of textbooks. He serves as a reviewer for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and editor for Techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery, Journal for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the American Journal of Orthopaedics.
