Biographical Sketch
Lee Wallace, MD, joined the Department of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at Cleveland Clinic in 1994. He is Assistant Director of the Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Fellowship and Co-Director of Intraoperative Echocardiography Training for anesthesiology residents and cardiothoracic anesthesia fellows.
Dr. Wallace received an engineering degree from Auburn University, in Auburn, Ala., and a medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, in Birmingham, Ala. He completed both a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in cardiac anesthesiology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in Baltimore, Md. He also completed a fellowship in echocardiography at Cleveland Clinic. He is certified by both the American Board of Anesthesiology and the National Board of Echocardiography.
He has participated as faculty at many national conferences on anesthesiology and perioperative echocardiography. He teaches at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and serves as the Medical Advisor for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation School of Perfusion.
His specialty interests include performing and teaching intraoperative echocardiography, anesthesia for heart and lung transplantation, anesthesia for lung and aortic surgery, anesthesia for robotic and other minimally invasive surgery and anesthesia for percutaneous valve repair/replacement.
