Biographical Sketch
John P. Campbell, MD, joined Cleveland Clinic in 1989 following 12 years of private practice in endocrinology and internal medicine. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he earned his medical degree at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University. He completed his residency training in internal medicine and served a fellowship in endocrinology at Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, and also is qualified as a Federal Aviation Administration Medical Examiner to perform Class II and III medical examinations of pilots.
Dr. Campbell has served as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Ohio State University College of Medicine and at Hershey Medical Center, and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
He served as Chief of the Endocrine Service and Director of the Diabetic Unit, Consultant in Nuclear Medicine at Akron Hospital and Consultant in Preventive Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.
Dr. Campbell has been an active participant in physician and patient education programs, as well as an active member of our Executive Healthcare Programs, which focus on CEO healthcare. His primary interests are preventive medicine, endocrinology and lipid disorders.
