Biographical Sketch
Johanna Goldfarb, MD, is head of the Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the Pediatric Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital (CCCH). She is Chair of the Infection Control Committee of the CCCH. She is a Full Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CCLCM). Dr. Goldfarb is a member of the CCLCM: admissions committee, MSCRP committee for promotion of the medical students and she is a mentor for the Foundations of Clinical Medicine seminar series, an acute care preceptor and a research mentor for the medical school.
Dr. Goldfarb is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her clinical interests include clinical pediatric infectious diseases and infections in immunocompromised children. Her research interests include infections in children with cancer and after transplantation. She participates in clinical trials to evaluate new infectious diseases therapies.
Dr. Goldfarb has received many teaching awards in her career and also the Cleveland Clinic's Bruce Hubbard Stewart Award " in recognition of her ability to combine sensitivity and compassion with knowledge and skill in the practice of medicine" in 2005.
