Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Very impressed with Dr. Heyka, personable, direct, thorough, excellent at making and maintaining eye contact. I wish, however, that he had prepared better in going through my medical records as he had to continually search for pertinent Information. His explanations about my condition and medications were very helpful though I am still waiting on his written notes for further clarification.

Dr.Heyka was very pleasant and invited me to talk about anything. He answered my questions better than other Dr. Appointments I had.

Reviewed on Oct 27, 2023

They were awesome! I drove 4 hours to and from for my appointment. Dr. Heyka wanted to get an ultrasound. The staff looked at other locations and got me in the same day so I wouldn't have to drive back. It was only a 15 min drive to the other clinic.

The Doctor was very thorough after listening to me. Very caring when explaining my issues.

Reviewed on May 17, 2023

Very good experience! The doctor actually listened to what I was saying and I was able to talk to him about my concerns about medication I am taking and he explained how the medication worked. I liked that he took the time to explain and at no time did I feel rushed with the visit. He was very patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable! I feel like I can trust him with my care.
