Biography

About Jennifer McBride, Ph.D.

Jennifer McBride, PhD, joined the Staff of the Cleveland Clinic and the Faculty of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University in June 2006. She holds a PhD in neuroscience from Purdue University and a BS in psychology from South Dakota State University. During her graduate studies, Dr. McBride explored enhancement of axonal conduction following application of pyridine-based potassium-channel blockers to mechanically injured spinal cord. While at Purdue she served as a Teaching Assistant in gross anatomy and neuroanatomy for first-year medical students enrolled at Indiana University.

Dr. McBride is Director of the Histology Thread, Director of Virtual Anatomy Education and Course Director for Musculoskeletal Sciences 1 in the Lerner College of Medicine. Her responsibilities include coordination of the curriculum within the histology thread and developing, organizing and evaluating the content of the year 1 Musculoskeletal Sciences course and developing a virtual based anatomy curriculum. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. McBride participates in the planning and teaching of year 1 and 2 anatomy and neuroanatomy sessions. She also serves as a member of the College Admissions Committee and Applicant Screening Committee and is Associate Director of the Cleveland Clinic Body Donation Program.

Her research interests include innovations in medical education, retention of learning and clinically based anatomical studies.
