Dr. Wei Chen gives an explanation whenever needed and explains all risks thoroughly. The PA Erika Hopkins has improved greatly in listening to my concerns and allowing my participation in my care. There still needs to be more acceptance of ownership when there are issues in care. There is some disconnect between issues after surgery and issues caused by improper patient actions in after surgery care. PA Erika has improved greatly in listening to the paitient when they express what they need for pain managent.

The PA was fantastic. She answered everything she was able to answer, took extra time with my questions, and was a wealth of knowledge on the process and treatment options. Considering the appointment was scheduled with the MD, I wish he'd actually shown up after a 5 hour drive or that I'd been known that he wouldn't show. The PA was great so I don't feel like anything was lost and she was on top of things - but the no show from the MD without explanation was odd.

An in person would always be the best way to provide care for a patient as the provider is able to visually see/ touch the patient and area of concern however, the video appointment appears better than waiting months for an appointment and still allows the patient to verbally voice any concerns

As an international self-pay patient, it is very inconvenient to go through the third party company to get appointments. I'm not permitted to call the office directly to schedule appointments . I have to go through 2 and 3 people to schedule anything or ask questions. That is the only part that is frustrating. Everything else has been top notch. I am very happy with Dr. Chen and his staff, they have been excellent, and I would recommend them without question.

After waiting two hours it felt like Dr Chen was rushed. He also had 3 colleagues with him that took away some of his attention. He proposed a different surgery than I expected so I was trying to process the news. When I asked for details he said I could schedule a virtual visit. But unfortunately, I found out that my state no longer offers virtual visits with out-of -state providers. Since then I have messaged through the portal for more information but have only been given what the nurse thought might be the surgery he proposed.

Dr Chen was clear in communicating. He was professional and shared concerns he had with the fact my arm started swelling so fast after surgery.
