About Kenneth Mayuga, MD

Kenneth A. Mayuga, MD, is a cardiac electrophysiologist (heart rhythm specialist) in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute. Dr. Mayuga also holds an academic appointment in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

Specialty interests: Syncope; Orthostatic intolerance; Implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs); Cardiac resynchronization therapy (Biventricular device implantation); Catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias; Management of Bradycardia, Supraventricular tachycardia, Atrial fibrillation, Atrial flutter, Atrial tachycardia, Ventricular tachycardia, Ventricular fibrillation, and Sudden cardiac death

Education and Training: Dr. Mayuga earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois where he was a James Scholar in the honors program for research and independent study.  He served his residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic and completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of California Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, California. He then returned to Cleveland Clinic to complete a fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology where he received the Excellence in Medical Education Award and the Syncope Award for research.  He was named to the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2014.

Publications and Speaking: Dr. Mayuga has published numerous articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals and has authored or coauthored several chapters in medical textbooks. He has presented original scientific research at numerous national and international conferences and is an invited speaker at medical conferences. Dr. Mayuga is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society.
