Biography

About Amanda Lathia, MD

Dr. Amanda Lathia, MD is a staff physician in the Division of Geriatric Medicine. She is certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with added qualifications in geriatric medicine. Her clinical interests include aging, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, functional impairment and optimizing function in older adults, polypharmacy, falls, mood disorders in older adults, female incontinence, osteoporosis, and complementary and alternative medicine. She is also interested in and dedicated to interdisciplinary education in geriatrics. 

Dr. Lathia received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland and completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Lathia is actively involved in the education and training of medical students, residents, and geriatric medicine fellows. She leads rotations at the Cleveland Clinic in geriatric medicine for medical students from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She also holds a educational grant from the Health and Human Resources Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support curriculum development in interdisciplinary education in geriatrics.

The doctor was so caring and patient listening and making the whole experience a very good one - even enjoyable.
