Integrative Medicine Consultations
One-hour consultations are available Monday through Friday with our integrative medicine specialists at our Lyndhurst campus location.
These consultations consist of an intensive review of the patient's past medical history, current medical issues, and desired outcomes. Our doctors can then give recommendations and assist the patient in choosing how to integrate complementary therapies and treatments into their lives.
These visits are covered by most insurances and are considered a visit with a specialist; however, it is always a good idea to check with your insurance company.
Lifestyle Medicine Consults
Changing your lifestyle habits will be the primary way of treatment and managing your chronic disease(s). Our goal is to work with you to create a personalized lifestyle self-care plan that you can implement and sustain.
A Lifestyle Medicine Consult is an hour-long appointment with a Lifestyle Medicine physician. He or she will:
- Take a detailed personal, family and medical history
- Learn more about you; your dietary, exercise and sleep habits; and your sources of stress and the way you copy with it
- Assess your helath concerns and evaluate your symptoms
- Order any necessary tests
Your personalized treatment plan will be based on your health history, symptoms and current lifestyle. After your consult, you will know how to follow your lifestyle self-care plan. For additional support, your physician may recommend private or group wellness programs and classes.
Appointments are available at Cleveland Clinic Lyndhurst Specialty Center, 1950 Richmond Road, Lyndhurst, OH 44124
Lifestyle Medicine Consult visits are covered by insurance.
Why should I consider a consult?
You may benefit from an Integrative Medicine or a Lifestyle Medicine consult if you want to take a more holistic or integrative approach to your health. All the physicians in our center have had education and training in conventional medicine. This means they can offer new therapies for chronic illnesses or troubling symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, nausea, pain, anxiety, and stress. By addressing these key components of health and focusing on prevention, they can help you enjoy a better quality of life.
An Integrative Medicine or Lifestyle Medicine consult may also be worthwhile if you cannot tolerate the medicines your doctor has prescribed for you. We can often provide alternative treatment options.
If I like my care, will I still see my regular doctor?
Integrative Medicine & Lifestyle Medicine physicians will not replace your primary care provider or specialist. Our goal is to work together with all members of your healthcare team. Our expertise lies in managing chronic diseases rather than treating acute medical problems. For acute care and medical emergencies, you will need to seek help from your primary care physician.
