The Cleveland Clinic Health System Advanced Practice Nurses are proud to announce the annual Clinical and Professional Advanced Practice Nursing Conference. “Celebrating APN Practice: Moving Forward” addresses the changing role of Advanced Practice Nursing in the new millennium of healthcare.

The format will consist of two tracks: A Professional Track focusing on leadership, research and publishing and a Clinical Track with emphasis on pharmacology and current clinical topics. The sessions are designed to provide the participant with cutting edge clinical knowledge and innovative strategies for role enhancement and decision making. The attendees are Advanced Practice Nurses from Ohio and surrounding states. These Advanced Practice nurses are responsible for product evaluation, policy/procedure development, ensuring best clinical practice affecting patient outcomes and direct patient care.

We invite you to display at our conference and network with these nursing and organizational innovators. The display fee for the full conference is $500.

Display Time: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Abstract Submission

You are invited to submit an abstract of ongoing nursing research or projects for consideration in the poster session.

Deadline:

Abstract submissions must be received no later than August 4, 2014. You will be notified of acceptance by August 8, 2014 via email. Abstracts must be submitted by email to: bennetc3@ccf.org.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstracts not conforming to the stated requirements will not be reviewed and will be returned to sender.
  • Each abstract should be single spaced and fit on one page (not to exceed 300 words).
  • Black type using a 12 pt. font size and 1” margins.
  • Do not include charts or graphs.
  • Research abstracts must include: problem statement, aims, methods (design, subjects, setting, variables, and interventions, if applicable), results and implications for nursing. Bold type the title of each section.
  • Non-research abstracts must include: background/problem, project description, project goals, evaluation/results and implications for nursing. Bold type the title of each section.
  • For submission of the abstract, please use the following format: Use a left-justified margin for title and text, do not indent. Type the title in capital letters on the first and any following lines. Immediately after the title, list the last name and first initial of the authors. List the institution of the first author after the last author. Omit degrees and titles. Follow institutional name with city and state.

Example: A NOVEL APPROACH TO PATIENT CARE. Jones, J., Smith, N., Any Hospital, Cleveland, OH.

A single cover sheet must accompany the above copy that includes: Title, author(s) name, address, telephone number, primary author’s credentials and professional affiliation/job title; type of abstract being submitted (research or non-research). A panel of nurse leaders will blindly review submissions.

Poster Presentations

If your abstract is accepted, please note that posters will be tacked onto a 6’ x 4’ mounting board. Display boards and pins will be provided. No tables will be available for tabletop displays. Posters can be 6’ x 4’ or less in size.

After that time, you may register on-site.

Cancellation Policy:

  • A full refund will be made if canceled by Friday, August 22, 2014.
  • After August 22, 2014, a $25 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund for the Full Conference registration.
  • Written notification of your cancellation is required to process your refund.
  • NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER September 26, 2014.
