Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus Authorized American Heart Association Training Center conducts courses in accordance with current AHA standards. In addition, the Main Campus Authorized Training Center supports courses and instructors at 150 training locations throughout the northeast Ohio community and beyond.
In 2011, the Authorized Training Center expanded its Main Campus course offerings and continues to provide a welcoming, learner-focused environment. New high fidelity equipment was purchased, and a structured debriefing style of instruction improved the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills for participants. Best practice models indicate high fidelity simulation may result in improved patient care.
The Main Campus Authorized American Heart Association Training Center instructional staff has expanded to include 26 employees.
The core staff is composed of registered nurses and paramedics experienced in managing arrest and peri-arrest situations.
The core staff is supplemented by a wide range of hospital-based instructors, including staff physicians, registered nurses, paramedics and respiratory therapists.
Our team is fortunate to include AHA Regional Faculty members in BLS, ACLS and PALS, and Sharon Mace, MD, FACEP, FAAP, who is AHA National Faculty for PALS.

"I wanted to send an email to tell you how impressed I am with all of the recent changes within the CPR Department.
"As an instructor, it is so nice to come into a place that is neat and clean and organized. Not only do I love the new computers and a place to put our personal belongings, but the new equipment is WONDERFUL as well. I recently taught ACLS and was able to use the new Sim Men. They are AMAZING. It makes such a difference when you can focus on actually teaching the group and not having to worry about changing the rhythms, etc. Having carts that are fully stocked, med boxes as you would find them on the floor, and being able to push the meds and hang the drips makes such a difference. The students are actually able to do things as we would on the floor. I think that being able to actually work through a real code in an environment that is conducive to learning and where the staff wants to help the students succeed is invaluable.
"I have heard this same feedback from my staff as well. They thoroughly enjoy coming to HSB now...
"Recently, the feedback has been very positive and the word is spreading like wild fire. They love the changes at HealthSpace.
"I have heard comments the staff wants to help them succeed, it is a warm and welcoming environment, they even have appreciated how the manikins are on beds so they don't have to sit on the floor."
