Mobetron Intraoperative Electron Radiotherapy
Advancements in technology for radiation therapy have seen the size of equipment shrink significantly, while the effectiveness of these treatments continues to increase. The IntraOp Mobetron is no exception to this fact. Heralded as the world’s first mobile, self-shielded electron linear accelerator that delivers Intraoperative Electron Radiotherapy (IOERT) , the Mobetron IOERT solution is one of the most effective and efficient ways to deliver radiation therapy.
Size Has Its Advantages
One of the main advantages of Mobetron is its size. Mobetron is small and lightweight enough to fit within existing operating rooms to allow the radiation oncologist and surgeon to work more closely on treatment planning.
This means that both physicians have the benefit of viewing the tumor bed and surrounding structures first hand, and make any necessary adjustments in real time. Mobetron’s small size also eliminates the need for transporting the patient between operating rooms, resulting in quicker delivery of radiation with better results.
The principle diseases treated with Mobetron are:
- Breast Cancer
- Head & Neck Cancer
- Pancreatic Cancer
- Rectal Cancer
Mobetron Intraoperative Electron Radiotherapy is used in conjunction with physician specialists from the Digestive Disease Institute and the Department of Radiation Oncology.
