What is Sarcoidosis?

Sarcoidosis is a common and potentially severe disorder About 60-70 percent of patients will experience mild forms of the illness with a quick recovery whereas other patients will develop long-term complications with little or no response to conventional steroidal therapy Anyone can get sarcoidosis, but the disease disproportionately occurs more often in African-Americans than Caucasians and affects individuals of Irish, German, Scandinavian, and Puerto Rican descent.

SCOE provides patients with sarcoidosis and physicians with access to Cleveland Clinic physicians whose subspecialty care of practice (pulmonary, ophthalmology, rheumatology, and dermatology) includes treating patients with sarcoidosis.
