The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Center of Excellence was developed in 2000 with the following goals:
- To provide specialized patient care for those diagnosed or suspected of having Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1)
- To provide educational materials and serve as a resource contact for those affected with Alpha-1
- To offer an annual educational conference directed to Alpha-1 patients, family members, caregivers, and interested colleagues
- To participate in research associated with Alpha-1.
