Will my insurance cover mental health or substance abuse services?
Many, but not all, insurance plans cover the services offered by the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology. We recommend you speak to your insurance company regarding coverage limits prior to your initial appointment. Our financial counselor is also available at (216) 444-2319 or (800) 223-2273 ext. 45812.
Self - Pay
If you elect not to use your insurance or prefer to be a self-pay patient our financial counselor will collect a deposit for services in the form of check, credit card or cash at the time of your initial visit.
Managed care or Commercial insurance Coverage
Please check your insurance to see if you are required to secure a referral from your primary care physician prior to seeing one of our mental health providers. Please obtain this approval from your primary care doctor prior to your initial appointment.
Medicare Coverage
Please bring your Medicaid card to your first appointment. You must show your Medicaid card to the financial counselor prior to your first visit and once a month thereafter.
