Thank you for your interest in our Urogynecology Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Our fellowship is a three-year fellowship that begins in July of each year. We are in the 13th year of our accredited three-year fellowship.
In general, the program is split into four major components:
- Advanced Operative Endoscopy including all of the associated didactics on animals and cadavers
- In-Patient Benign Gynecology and Urogynecology
- Research/Out-patient Experience/ Urology Rotation
- Protected Research.
Each of these main blocks is approximately equal and our fellows are extremely well trained and highly competent by the end of fellowship.
Over the past five years we have expanded collaboration with our Department of Urology with the creation of the Center for Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Joint multidisciplinary educational and research conferences occur on a weekly basis. The formal rotation in Female Urology is now a standard part of the fellow’s educational experience and has been very popular.
The endoscopy and urology components of our program are unique compared to most current fellowships in the world. We believe that this aspect is critical in developing the next generation of advanced gynecologic and reconstructive pelvic surgeons.
