Support Medical Research by Attending the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health River Run

8/29/2008

Want to get some exercise and help raise money to support the medical research at Cleveland Clinic?

Register for the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health River Run, scheduled for September 6 and 7, and $1 of your registration fee will go to medical research at Lerner Research Institute. You can even select an area of research to direct your contribution. Friends, family and co-workers can support your efforts by making pledges to the Lerner Research Institute in your name.

Every $50 in pledges qualifies for a chance to win a Wii Game Console or the Wii Fit Game system. $50 earns one chance; $100 means two chances; $250 brings five chances. The more pledges you generate, the greater your odds of winning.

The specific research areas include: cardiovascular diseases; cancer; musculoskeletal diseases; neurological diseases; eye diseases; metabolic diseases; and allergic and immunologic diseases/conditions. If you don't have a particular disease area in mind, donations can be earmarked for the LRI Chairman Innovation Fund.

River Run events start at the Cleveland Metroparks Wallace Lake in Berea.
