The structure of this 3-year program is strategically designed to provide outstanding education in the diagnosis and management of medical problems spanning the spectrum of general internal medicine in the framework of humanism, professionalism and the cost-effective practice of medicine with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technology available for use.
Training with the faculty of the Division of Medicine provides residents with a wealth of opportunities to train with full-time clinicians who are deeply committed not only to their patients and research, but to teaching both residents and students as well. Many of the medicine faculty are nationally and internationally known for their research activities and readily extend their commitment to mentoring resident research projects.
The academic environment formed by this interaction of residents with faculty and medical students enhances patient care and fosters a vigorous learning environment to develop residents professionally, intellectually and personally to promote their professional growth and the skills necessary for lifelong learning and maximization of their future professional opportunities.
