Beginning Oct., 3, 2013, the Ohio Department of Transportation will begin a traffic plan that adds lanes to I-77 and I-490 and serves as the prime alternate route during construction of the second Innerbelt Bridge. This plan remains in effect until completion of the second Innerbelt Bridge in 2016.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Overnight Oct., 3, 2013, the ramp from SR 176 (Jennings Freeway) to I-71 North will close. Motorists will need to use I-490 East to I-77 North to access I-90 East.
- Friday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. until Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m., I-90 East between I-490 and I-77 will be closed. When it reopens on Saturday, it will be reduced to two through-lanes.
- If you travel inbound from the west via I-90 or from the south via I-71, you will need to use I-490 East to I-77 North to I-90 East to access the E. 22nd Street, Carnegie or Chester exits.
