Cleveland Clinic today launched a mobile version of its Web site at m.clevelandclinic.org to give patients and visitors with mobile phones easy access to finding doctors and other important information.
The mobile site offers a simple-to-use interface for streamlined access to information. It allows users to:
- Search for doctors and specialists by name, location or department.
- Find information on parking, hours of operation and directions for 80 facilities that provide Cleveland Clinic services, including regional, national and international locations.
- Access a system-wide phone directory, as well as listings of amenities, including free shuttle buses and restaurants.
- Look up terms in a medical dictionary.
ClevelandClinic.org is the most visited hospital Web site in the United States, according to online information services firm Experian Hitwise. It’s also among the top 100 most visited online sources of health information among Web users in the nation.
"Cleveland Clinic is continuously looking for ways to leverage technology to improve the experience for our patients and visitors,” said Paul Matsen, Cleveland Clinic Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “As more of our online information seekers are turning to mobile technology, this version of our Web site will make it easier for them to communicate with our caregivers.”
The new mobile site is designed to work on Web-enabled phones, including Blackberry, iPhone, Droid and Windows Mobile. Users can access the Cleveland Clinic mobile site directly at m.clevelandclinic.org, or they will be automatically redirected to the mobile site from www.clevelandclinic.org when they enter the URL into their mobile phones.
