Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation is a program designed to help patients quickly recover from heart problems and return to full, productive lives. The multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation focuses on developing an individual's healthy lifestyle.

The two main components of cardiac rehab are:

  • Exercise – EKG-monitored and supervised exercise training that safely conditions your cardiovascular system, strengthens muscles, improves stamina and lowers your risk for developing heart problems
  • Education and counseling – to help you understand your heart condition and find ways to reduce your risk of future difficulties
