The FINAL pollen and mold spore counts as determined on October 2, 2009 are:

2 Tree pollen grains per cubic meter, which is low
2 Weed pollen grains per cubic meter, which is low
3,790 Mold Spores per cubic meter, which is low

Pollens are tiny particles released from trees, grasses, and weeds that can trigger hay fever and asthma symptoms from April through October. Molds, or airborne fungus materials, are also generally present in outdoor air from spring through the frost.

During the pollen and mold spore season for 2009, we will be monitoring and reporting levels of pollen grains and mold spores and outdoor air in the Cleveland vicinity.

Allergist-Immunologists seldom recommend moving to another locale as a cure for allergies. A move may be of questionable value because a person may escape one allergy to ragweed, for example, only to develop sensitivity to grasses or another allergen in the new location.

Since moving can have a disrupting effect on a family financially and emotionally, relocation should be considered only in an extreme situation and only after consultation with an allergist-immunologist.
