The left coronary artery and its branches, the left anterior descending artery and the circumflex, thread through the front surface of the heart and supply blood to the muscular left side of the heart, which pumps blood to the rest of the body.

Circumflex supplies:
  • left atrium, the side & back of the left ventricle
Left anterior descending supplies:
  • front & bottom of the left ventricle & the front of the septum
Left main coronary trunk divides into
  • Circumflex artery
  • Left anterior descending artery
