The majority of symptoms involve urination. The most common is the inability to control urination. Other symptoms include a weak or dribbling urinary stream, and inability to urinate or the need to strain excessively to urinate. Frequent urination, defined as urinating 8 or more times daily, is often seen along with urgency, a feeling or need to urinate immediately. Painful urination suggests a urinary tract infection resulting from pooled or stagnant residual urine.
