Am I a Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?

Am I a Candidate for Blepharoplasty?

Patients interested in undergoing a brow lift or blepharoplasty range in age from the mid 30's to the mid 80's. Most patients whose brows and eyelids exhibit the classic signs of aging (drooping, sagging, noticeable wrinkles) can undergo plastic surgery. Blepharoplasty, however, is inappropriate for patients diagnosed with dry or irritated eyes, because the procedure can aggravate these conditions and thus risk damaging the surfaces of the eyes. Patients with excessively loose lower eyelids should also avoid lower lid blepharoplasty, because lid shortening can occur after surgery. For these reasons and others, all patients should undergo a thorough pre-surgical assessment by the plastic surgeon overseeing the case.
