New Avon Health Center Named in Honor of Richard E. Jacobs
Cleveland Clinic hit a home run with the opening of its newest healthcare facility, the Richard E. Jacobs Health Center in Avon, Ohio.
Named in honor of the late former Cleveland Indians owner, developer and philanthropist Richard E. Jacobs, the $97.9 million, 190,000-square-foot center includes four operating rooms, four procedure rooms and 23-hour overnight stay capabilities. The center will employ 400 physicians, nurses and support staff when fully staffed.
The center also provides primary care, more than 30 specialty services, a pharmacy, on-site laboratory and a large physical therapy area with two aquatic therapy pools.
“We have state-of-the art imaging and laboratory services, so patients will not need to travel to different facilities,” says Joseph Knapp, MD, the center’s Medical Director, adding that the center’s first-floor rehabilitation area is unique to this region. “The center has two large aquatic therapy pools, a full gym and rehabilitation services on the first floor of the center,” he says. “We can help everyone from weekend warriors to patients recovering from a stroke.”
