Medical and Patient Education

“Academic medicine describes an environment in which patient care, education and research are all intertwined and impact patient care.  This environment produces the greatest opportunities for translating advances from physician education and investigation into beneficial patient care.”

-- Andrew J. Fishleder, MD, Executive Dean, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University Teaching Future Healthcare Leaders

Enhancing Education

Cleveland Clinic’s visionary leaders have nurtured an environment that attracts and retains the best minds in medicine and science, and their collective work has earned the respect of the international community.  Time and again, Cleveland Clinic has proved that not-for-profit academic medical centers are the true educators of tomorrow’s medical innovators.

Cleveland Clinic’s educational opportunities are life-spanning and life-altering.  The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University was founded in 2002 as a five-year program to train physician investigators through clinical experience coupled with an innovative research-focused curriculum.  With the fourth largest graduate medical education program in the country, Cleveland Clinic offers an extraordinary graduate medical education for interns, residents and fellows, while also providing post-graduate continuing education through conferences and seminars.
