Cleveland Clinic, a not-for-profit health care organization, has been providing outstanding medical care to people from the United States and throughout the world since 1921. Since 1988, its Florida division, Cleveland Clinic in Florida, has also provided the world-class care for which the organization is renowned.

The International Patient Services Center is a comprehensive program dedicated to meeting the needs and requirements of international patients who receive their care at Cleveland Clinic in Florida. It offers a variety of services designed to make patients feel welcome and ensure that their Clinic visit goes as smoothly as possible.

Patients are encouraged to call the International Patient Services Center before traveling to Cleveland Clinic in Florida, for help in scheduling medical appointments, securing lodging and assistance with hospital admissions, financial transactions and translation services.

International Patient Services

Mission Statement

The mission of the International Center is to provide high-quality service and care to all patients and their families and to promote educational exchanges throughout the world.

Making An Appointment

Appointment specialists in the International Patient Services Center will assist in scheduling medical appointments for international patients. Patients can specify the specialty or physician they wish to see, or simply describe their medical situation and be assured that they will be scheduled with the most appropriate physician for their needs.

Transportation

Travel arrangements can be made for patients and their families coming to Cleveland Clinic in Florida from abroad. The International Patient Services staff will also assist in making arrangements for transportation to and from the airport.

Accommodations

International Patient Services staff will be happy to make reservations at local hotels, allowing patients the benefit of the Cleveland Clinic in Florida discounted corporate hotel rates.

Financial Transactions

Staff at the International Patient Services Center will help international guests obtain an estimate of medical and surgical charges, as well as conduct banking and wire transfers from home.

Security

Cleveland Clinic's security officers are experienced in all security matters, including the protection of visiting dignitaries. Patients are encouraged to arrange for any special security needs before their arrival.

Interpreters

Interpreters are invaluable in explaining important medical information, such as physician's instructions, what to expect from surgery and how to take medications. The International Patient Services staff is available to accompany international patients to medical appointments and assist them in communicating. The services of an interpreter can be requested at the time the appointment is made.

Second Opinion Program

An international patient who has received a diagnosis abroad may obtain a second opinion from a Cleveland Clinic specialist. This program would require the patient to submit their medical records for physician review. A full medical report, including written opinion, will be provided.
