Varicoceles

A varicocele is a cluster of large, dilated veins that drain blood away from one or both of the testicles. Varicose veins in the legs usually occur when the valves lose their strength, but with a varicocele, the valves were missing from the outset.

Since varicoceles may affect fertility, it may be necessary to surgically correct the problem. Experienced microsurgeons at Cleveland Clinic have done many of these procedures with great success.
