Claudio Fiocchi, MD, receives Lifetime Achievement Award in IBD
December 22, 2010 - Congratulations to Claudio Fiocchi, MD, Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Pathobiology departments, for being named the recipient of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundations of America’s (CCFA) 2010 Janowitz Lifetime Achievement Award in IBD.
This award is presented annually by the CCFA to an inflammatory bowel disease research scientist who has demonstrated career-long dedication to the discovery and understanding of Crohn’s and/or ulcerative colitis. Dr. Fiocchi has been with Cleveland Clinic since 2005. His research is focused on the pathogenesis of IBD, with his team investigating immune events occurring in the bowel in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patients, as well as in animal models of IBD.
